SELF TICKER

Support

Questions, bugs and feedback go to support@selfticker.com. It is a small operation, so replies come from a person and may take a few days.

Before you change phones, export your data

Self Ticker keeps everything on your device and nowhere else. There is no account and no server, which is good for your privacy and unforgiving if you lose the phone.

Open Settings, then Backup and transfer, then Export to a file. Save it somewhere you will still have later, such as Files or iCloud Drive. On the new phone, install Self Ticker and use Import from a file.

Importing replaces whatever is currently in the app rather than merging with it. The app shows you what the file contains and what you are about to lose before anything changes.

Common questions

The app did not understand something I typed

The parser reads a fixed vocabulary offline, so it is consistent but limited. The full word list is in Settings under the index methodology. If a word you use often is missing, you can teach it in Settings under custom words.

Why did my index go down?

Because some habits subtract. A tracker that only ever adds is not measuring anything. The exact value of every entry is published in the methodology screen, so nothing is hidden.

Can I recover data I deleted?

No, and neither can we. Nothing you log ever reaches us, so there is no copy anywhere except the export files you made yourself.

Is the trading desk real money?

No. It is a simulation built on your own habit index. There is no real money in it, nothing in it is a real financial instrument, and none of it is financial advice.

Is any of this medical advice?

No. Self Ticker is not a medical device and the scores are motivational judgement calls, not clinical measurements. Check with a doctor before making decisions about your health.
